SERVICE ASSESSMENT

Photography and video project readiness diagnostic

Review the creative brief, preparation, usage permissions and final-file handover. The assessment uses your answers; it is not a legal rights audit or a guarantee of creative results.

AT A GLANCE

A clear starting point

Who it is for

Business communication that needs to explain a product, service, company activity or a space presented to visitors.

What we need first

The objective, intended channels, subjects, locations and available assets. We establish what needs to be created.

What you receive

The agreed photographs, video versions or virtual tour with clearly defined usage and handover arrangements.

WHO IT IS FOR

What business purpose should the content serve?

Visual content is planned around its purpose: present a product, explain a service, introduce a company or let people explore a space. Photography, promotional video, corporate films and virtual tours each have distinct production and delivery requirements.

Content planning follows its purpose. A company introduction may need people, surroundings and the nature of the work; a product buyer needs features, scale and use. An employee interview can explain a complex service, while social content needs a clear central message and presentation suited to a smaller screen.

We begin with the audience, intended message and channels. You provide brand guidance, important facts, existing material and examples of a suitable direction. These become a concrete brief: what must appear, what should remain outside the frame and which finished versions are needed. The production day then has a practical plan.

SCOPE

How do we plan company and product photography?

The photography brief identifies subjects, location, intended use and presentation. Products may need consistent angles, useful detail and a clear view; team photography needs an appropriate setting and prepared participants. A shot list establishes the material required for the website, catalogue or presentation.

  • The proposal defines photography or filming scope, final files, revisions and usage rights.

How do we plan company and product photography?

Before the shoot, you prepare products, the space and participants. We discuss clothing, visible branding, distracting objects and information that must not appear. Afterwards, we select images and complete the agreed processing. Final image quantities and editing requirements are established early because colour correction and complex retouching involve different work.

How is a business video developed?

A video starts with the story: what the viewer should understand and which sequence of images will explain it. Interviews receive a question outline, while a product or service introduction needs a script and required actions. Facts, names and people authorised to speak for the company are confirmed before filming.

The production plan covers location, participant preparation, sound and supporting footage for editing. A review version lets your team assess the narrative, factual accuracy and image selection. We ask for one consolidated feedback list so different company representatives do not request conflicting changes. The final edit follows the approved direction.

How are formats prepared for websites and social channels?

Different channels may require different aspect ratios, durations and text placement. We plan these versions before filming so essential product details or faces are not awkwardly cropped afterwards. A horizontal image cannot always be adapted effectively to a narrow vertical frame.

Important speech can be presented through captions, with a written description or transcript on the website. Automatic captions need review for names, terminology and errors that change meaning. Export settings follow the agreed use and current channel requirements rather than assuming one permanent set of limits applies everywhere.

W3C caption guidance explains how speech and meaningful sounds can be presented as text; the required caption formats belong in the agreed brief.

What should you look for in photography and video examples?

A work example is most useful alongside its brief: who it was for, what it needed to show and which role the creator performed. An attractive image alone does not establish whether a project involved scripting, filming, editing or just one of these. During discussion, we identify which presentation direction fits your situation.

Published work needs appropriate permission and an accurate account of Dev4you.lt’s contribution. This makes it easier to compare the example’s scope with the work your project needs. A video description provides context without requiring playback, while discussing its purpose helps identify choices relevant to your own project. The situation below explains a process rather than presenting a portfolio project.

How we work

Each stage defines the work, your input and the result to check.

01

Communication brief and channels

We discuss the audience, principal message and publication channels. You provide business facts and brand guidance, producing a clear communication brief.

02

Script or shot list and preparation

We prepare a script or shot list and a readiness plan. You coordinate the location and participants, so the required material is defined before production.

03

Photography or filming

We photograph or film against the approved brief. Your responsible representative helps resolve on-site questions, and the captured material covers planned subjects and actions.

04

Selection, editing and agreed revisions

We select and process the material, then provide a review version. You consolidate feedback into one list, and agreed revisions lead to an approved final version.

05

Final files and usage terms

We prepare the final formats and deliver the file set. You verify completeness, while usage terms and arrangements for additional work remain clearly recorded.

How are files, usage and revisions agreed?

Before production, we agree final formats, versions and the delivery method. Original photographs, unprocessed footage or editing project files are discussed separately if required. Finished content and all production files are different parts of a project, so this question is made explicit.

Usage terms cover intended channels, paid advertising and relevant restrictions. We establish who arranges permission for music, supplied graphics, people’s images and the location. Revision scope, the approving person and changes after final approval are also defined. A new script or additional shoot is assessed separately from a correction to an approved version.

What do you receive at the end of the project?

We deliver selected files with the agreed processing, organised by purpose. If multiple languages, aspect ratios or caption versions are required, filenames should make the correct choice clear. Text, names, visible branding and file opening are checked before delivery.

The approved final version and agreed usage terms are recorded. Your team verifies the complete deliverable set and suitability for its planned publication. Archive duration, later exports and additional editing are discussed in advance so there is an understandable process if more work is needed.

Illustrative scenario: introducing one product across channels

This is an illustrative communication brief. A product needs catalogue photographs and a short explanation of use for a social channel. The plan covers an overall view, relevant details and an action demonstrating the product’s purpose. Horizontal and vertical versions are agreed before production.

The verifiable outcome is a set of files matching the brief, with correct names, approved wording and a clear intended use. At handover, you can check consistency across catalogue images and confirm that the vertical version preserves important details and readable text.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

We create business photography, promotional and corporate videos, and virtual tours based on 360° panoramas. The choice follows your objective and intended use. Production, final assets, revisions, rights and technical presentation are agreed separately for each direction.

The brief, preparation, locations, team requirements, shooting scope and editing all matter. Final formats, revisions and additional expenses such as licensed material are also assessed.

Script or shot-list preparation can be included in the project. A clear audience, message and intended use are needed before creative work begins. The client must approve facts about their business, products and people.

File counts, resolution, aspect ratios and formats are agreed in the brief. Separate versions for websites and social channels can be planned. Source material and project files are not transferred automatically unless this is agreed.

They need to be defined in the proposal. Subtitles, translation, voice-over and additional formats each have their own scope. Before export, the client approves names, terminology and other important text.

Revision stages and boundaries are agreed before the project. Refining the original brief differs from changing the script or requesting new footage after filming. Additional work is agreed separately.

Usage channels and rights are defined in the agreement. Advertising may involve additional licence terms for music, likenesses or other material. These rights cannot be assumed simply because a file has been delivered.

Portfolio publication is agreed with the client and only authorised material is used. Confidential project data or people’s images should not be published merely to demonstrate service experience.
